Cindy Lin, originally from Irvine, is a rising sophomore at The Loomis Chaffee School, a boarding school in Windsor, Connecticut. Her favorite subject is English, in which she can dissect and discuss engrossing novels and their themes, plots, and character developments. Cindy has also been studying Latin and classical culture since the sixth grade, and she enjoys finding intricate connections between etymological roots and English vocabulary, which further spurs her fascination with the Latin language. Some of Cindy’s extracurriculars include playing the piano, running for her school’s cross country team, and swimming competitively. She is also an avid learner of economics, history, and math. At school, Cindy demonstrates involvement in several clubs, one of which is writing for the school newspaper. In her free time, Cindy enjoys reading books of all kinds, especially sci-fi and fantasy novels. She also like to write creative short stories or note down meaningful experiences in personal essays.
